They will close the clubhouse

The group exhibition They will close the clubhouse is a reaction to the declining interest of the current visitors to the clubhouse and the reluctance of the younger generation to take responsibility for its further operation. Since 2010, the clubhouse has been used by a group of local residents in their 30s as a place for weekend get-togethers. The clubhouse has become a kind of save zone, an island of peace, a place to share problems and spend free time, where groups of people who have stayed in the countryside despite the possibility of moving to the big city meet. The imminent closure of the clubhouse does not only leave nostalgic memories of the users, but also pushes other problems, which the local community tried to solve at least on a personal level behind the closed doors of the clubhouse, to another imaginary periphery. Closing the clubhouse removes the opportunity for community sharing and sends the millennial generation back to their rooms.
