live-coding
Corvi & Ancona
Live coding is a form of creative coding in which the writing of algorithms in real-time is employed for the generation of sound, images, and other media. By interacting with blocks of code, the performer builds and transforms structures and events, leading to an extremely versatile form of improvisation. In the sound domain, live coding has a great deal of potential, from the use of complex mathematical structures in real-time to the possibility of complete customization of the improvisational environment.
The workshop introduces the basics of TidalCycles, the most widely used open-source software for the live coding of music. TidalCycles allows you to program complex musical patterns in a very short time and offers total control of all sound parameters. The workshop was led by Italian artists Francesco Corvi and Ricardo Ancona.
